Hug Bridge

Roadbridge over River Dane, of early C19 character, in red ashlar
sandstone. One broad segmental arch, with plain rectangular band
backing voussoirs. Originally half its present width, the bridge is
now 2 contiguous structures of identical character tied together with
rods and circular plates of cast iron. Buttresses to south abutment
terminate in plain semi-circular pilasters to parapets. Two massive
low buttresses against east side of abutment.
