Dower house for Bretton Hall, now house. Early-mid C19 with added wing.
coursed squared stone, slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 x 2 bays with side wing. Steps
up to central panelled door under fanlight with glazing bars in doorcase with
pilasters supporting entablature. Flanked by unequally-hung 20-pane sashes in
corniced ashlar surrounds. 1st floor windows are sashes with glazing bars in
ashlar surrounds on cill bands. Eaves cornice. Hipped roof with 2 wide stacks.
Side wing set back on right. Rear: Venetian stair window. Left return: as
front, with French windows to ground floor. Interior: reported to have
cantilevered stone stair with wrought-iron balustrade and mahogany handrail.
