SOWERBY BRIDGE MAGSON HOUSE ROAD SE 0424 & SE 0524 (west side), Luddenden 9/128 Foot Barn with cottage approx - 27 metres to north west of Cooper House GV II Barn with cottage. Dated 1789. Coursed squared stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys with attic, 3 bays, cottage in right bay. Quoins. Flat-faced mullion windows. Central cart-entry with quoins and massive lintel and above it, at eaves, a stone with 2 arched pigeon-holes, ledge and incised date. Mistal door with plain stone surround at lower level to left. Right bay (cottage) has boarded door in plain stone surround to left of a 4-light window. On lst floor a 2-light and 4-light window. Plain gutter brackets. Seating for removed stack on right gable. Rear: blocked opposing cart-entry with 2-light window above. Cottage has a 4-light and a 2-light window to each floor. Plain gutter brackets. Left return: slit vents. Right return: doorway onto road at lst-floor level. Above is a board taking-in door flanked by 2-light chamfered mullion windows. Interior: barn has loft in left bay and braced queen-post trusses.
