SE04NE ADDINGHAM C.P. ADDINGHAM MOORSIDE

4/6 Lower Gate Croft

GV II

House. Mid C17 with c1745 alterations (date on door jamb). Rubble
brought to course, dressed quoins, stone slate roof. 2 storeys,
4 1st floor windows. Original doorway with composite jambs and
Tudor-arched lintel has stop-chamfered surround and sunken spandrels.
To left of door late C19 sash window with same over to let floor.
Central doorway with monolithic jambs set between 5-light double-
chamfered mdllioned windows with almost square reveals and lowered
sills (lack 2 mullions). 1st floor has 3 chamfered mullioned windows,
with c1743 lintels when roof and windows were raised, 2 of 3 lights
one of 4 lights. Left bay has lower roof line that rest of house
which has gable stacks. Outshut to rear has lean-to roof and chamfered
mullioned windows, single light and 2-light. Left hand return wall
has plinth and doorway (blocked) with punch dressed lintel to left of
2-light chamfered mullioned window (one light blocked). Same over to
1st floor (blind).

Interior: housebody has C18 segmental-arched fireplace with finely-
jointed joggled voussoirs and large keystone, raised jambs, chamfered
surround. Beehive oven set within to right hand side.
