Laithe-house. Initialled and dated. "TC "
1758
Rubble brought to course, rough dressed quoins, stone slate roof. Barn
occupies ¾ of the range;2½ storey single-cell double-depth cottage with
added cell under lower roof late C19. Barn to left has segmental-arched
cart entry formed by 2 large cantilevered stones butt-jointed, and with
quoined angle leads into portal with tall square-headed entry to barn.
Mistal doorway to left has deep lintel and composite jambs with chamfered
surround. Cottage slightly set back has doorway with tie-stone jambs
and chamfered surround that rises to form false ogee lintel which bears
date. Large single lights with plain stone surrounds and overlapping
lintel. Left return (of barn) has 2 square pitching-holes with plain
stone surrounds. Rear: barn has doorway opposite cart entry; cottage
has small stair-light.

Interior: barn has king-post truss braced to ridge. RCHM (England) report.
