Nos 133 to 149 (odd) (The White Swan Public House)
II
A late C18 or very early C19 rebuild and part conversion into cottages, of an old established inn. Two-storeys, irregularly coursed gritstone, long and short roughly dressed quoins. Stone slate roof with corniced chimneys. Two and three-light square mullion windows in squared surrounds. Plan square jamb subsidiary doorways. The public house front on the ground floor has three large canted stone brick bows, all originally windows but the centre altered to form porch, unrelated parapets added early C20, glazing bars renewed to lights. The return gable end to Smithy Hill is splayed out and has three-light square mullioned windows. Two and three-light square mullioned windows to rear elevations. Stone vaulted cellars probably part of C17 or earlier building.
