STAINBOROUGH WENTWORTH CASTLE SE30SW 1/57 Former cowhouses and calf houses at Home Farm 15.1.79 (formerly listed as 3 cottages north of stables and barn to Home Farm) GV II Cowhouses and calfhouses. c1800. For the Wentworth Castle estate. Plastered, coursed rubble sandstone, brick to rear, Welsh slate roof. 2-storey central part, otherwise single-storey; 1 : 3 : 2 : 3 : 1 bays, end and central bays breaking forward. Central door in ashlar surround flanked by windows with projecting sills on each floor; ashlar band, pediment copings. Side wings have various doors and windows beneath eaves band. End bay on right is pedimented. In poor condiditon at time of resurvey. Included for group value.
