GV II

House. Mid C18. Coursed limestone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays.
Slightly projecting quoins. Central 6-panel door with C20 fanlight under
keyed flat arch. Sash windows of 16, 12 and 9 panes in flush wood
architraves with keystones, voussoirs and stone sills. Brick end stacks.
Interior: front room right has original Adam-style fireplace with flanking
cupboards, and shutters. A photograph of the building, early C20, shows a
rectangular overlight in W.A. Atkinson, A Short Account of Knaresborough,
1922, p. 40.
