School, now village hall, of two builds. 1852 and 1895 on datestones. Limestone ashlar, Roman tile roof to left, Westmorland slate roof to right. Earlier open schoolroom to right, with cross wing to rear and single-storey entrance bay to right. Later open schoolroom to left. Single storey, with left section higher than right section. Plinth and quoins. Five-light sash to left section in plain stone surround which breaks cornice band. Pair of two-light sashes in milled keyed stone surrounds to left, with datestone between bearing Carlisle cipher, the names George and Mary, and the date 1852. Cornice band. Board door with overlight in chisel-tooled keyed surround, to extreme right, with coped blind parapet above. Gable coping and cyma reversa kneelers to both sections. Rubble-built range to right not of special interest.
