with semicircular head approximately 1 metre high. Raised inscription
painted black against white background, 'TADCASTER & DONCASTER / ROAD /
FERRYBRIDGE / 7 MILES' to north side, 'YORK / I4 3/4 MILES / TADCASTER / 5 1/4
MILES' to south side.
