7/1 High Scale Farmhouse

Farmhouse. c1660 with C19 and C20 alterations. Slobbered squared rubble, stone
dressings, stone slate roof. 3 cell plan. 2 storeys, 4 bays. C19 left-hand
entrance has plain surround; 4 panel door, upper 2 glazed. Left of centre entrance
has moulded surround, basket arch, C20 door. 3 ground floor windows: two 2
light chamfered with ovolo mullions and hoodmoulds; similar right-hand window
but with mullion missing. 4 upper floor windows: left-hand 2-light chamfered
with cavetto mullion; rest are similar but mullions missing. All have C20
casements. Eaves modillions. Right-hand gable ridge and 2 ridge stacks. Right-
hand return: chamfered angle light window with basket arch to upper floor.
Rear: projecting C17 stair turret and right-hand C19 kitchen extension.
Interior: late C17 staircase entrance has cavetto surround, basket arch: 4 panel
door has fluted styles and moulded top and middle rails. Small staircase window.
