STOKENHAM BICKERTON
SX83NW No. 3 Bickerton Cottage

Cottage. Probably C18 extended in C2O. Painted and rendered stone rubble
and probably cob. Thatched roof, gabled right hand east end and half-hipped
left west end. Large stone rubble projecting stack at right and east end
with later rendered shaft.
Plan: 2 room plan with central entrance. The room at the lower right end
is heated from a gable end stack, the left hand west room was unheated. At
the left hand west end there is a later single storey outbuilding which was
converted in C2O to extend the house accommodation.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 2 window south front. Small C20 2-light
casements with glazing bars and slate sills. Central doorway with C20
glazed door and slated lean-to canopy.
To left the single storey extension has C20 glazed door and 2-light
casement. Rear elevation was not inspected.
Interior: Not inspected.
