4/121 Gates and railings adjacent to
S.E. corner of Mentmore Towers

GV II

Gates and railings to terrace along S.E. front of house. C18,
probably French. Wrought iron. Central double gates, convex
in plan, with flanking concave and straight railings, the posts
also of wrought iron. Ornamented with scrolls, scrolled foliage
and delicate realistic flowers. Curved tops with scrolled crests.
Posts are similar, the inner ones topped with vases of flowers, the
outer posts topped with asymmetrical scrolls, one carrying a
lantern.
