Tunnel Portal. 1837. Part of Telford's improvements to the Main Line. Bri ck arched
structure with twin towpaths and brick horse treads forming a non-slip surface. Brick arch
ring intersected by retaining wall at springing. Stone string course and stone capped brick
retaing wall.
