Group of 50 memorials. C17, C18 and C19. Carved and moulded sandstone. They
include a group of 3 chest tombs approximately one metre south of chancel. All
have moulded plinth and top and square corner balusters. One, dated 1761 etc.,
has 2 panels with Rococo frames to each side. Ends have cartouches and winged
heads of differing design. The balusters are partly gadrooned. The others, of
similar design, are dated 1766 etc, and 1781 etc. 2 fielded panels to sides, one
to ends. Inscriptions to the Watson family. Double headstone approximately 6
metres south. 1662 and 1684. Scrolled shaped top with central faces. Moulded
panels. Inscriptions to Anne and William Baseley. Headstone approximately 6.5
metres south. Early/mid C18. Semi-circular top. Canopy with drapery above winged
head and scrolls. Headstone approximately 6 metres south of door. 1686. Scrolled
top and sunk panel. Inscription to May Goode. Row of 10 headstones approximately
1.5 metres south. Fourth dated 1687. Volute top with skull. Moulded sunk shield
panel. Fifth is late C17. Segmental top. Double swag with bow. Fielded panel and
ancanthus leaves. Sixth dated 1661. Shaped top. Small panel, containing shield
panel and drapery. Tenth is late C17, Scrolled top with central oval. Moulded
sunk panel and volutes. Headstone in angle of chancel and aisle. Early C18.
Shaped segmental top with carved head. Large elaborate cartouche. Headstone
approximately 2 metres south-east of corner of aisle. Late C17. Shaped top.
Inscription to Millisent Court. Headstone approximately 2.5 metres south. 1681.
Shaped top. Headstone approximately 3 metres south, 1681. Segmental top and sunk
panel. The remaining headstones are not of special architectural interest.
