House, now rest home. 1772, rear rebuilt early C19, large C20 extension.
Ashlar, part rendered, slate roofs. L plan. 3 windows in a 2 storey canted
bay, all glazing bar sashes, at ground floor each has a finely carved mask
keystone, rusticated end pilasters, modillion cornice, balustrade. Return
garden elevation has 2 windows under same balustrade, these have plain
architraves, at ground floor a large venetian window with gothick tracery; a
further 3 windows are in a plain rendered extension with parapet, the heavily
restored porch has had a fibreglass pediment added; 3 more similar windows in
wing; then 4 more with a similar porch in C20 extension. Interior: ground
floor room in main wing has a plaster ceiling probably by Thomas Stocking,
typically delicate trailing flowers, probably the former music room the motifs
in the bay include flute and drum. (Source: D. Verey: "Buildings of
