Mid-late C19. Detached public house on corner site with outbuildings extending
to rear along Gloucester Road. Colour-washed render, pantile roof, later brick end stacks. Main block: 3 storeys. Three windows, first floor, sashes with vertical glazing bars; and second floor, 3 pane glazing bar sashes. Ground
floor has 2 canted bays with moulded cornices with 2 plain glazed sashes to
each. Lower sashes have colour loaded glazing, with 'Royal George' on front sashes. Flat Doric portico with plain frieze. Corner pilasters and parapet. Second floor has long rectangular panel with concave corners, inscribed The
Royal George, between windows. Hanging sign on wrought iron bracket.
To rear (NIE) 2 storey wings with 2 glazing bar sashes windows to yard, 3 casement windows (one C20) and pitched pantile roof.
