Cottages, originally workhouse. Built 1757 by subscription. Nos 280 and 281
colour washed rough cast, No. 282 red brick, possibly encasing timber frame.
Clay tile roof. 5-room plan overall, 2 storeys and attics. Ground floor has
2 2-light and 2 3-light casements with glazing bars, first floor has similar
fenestration with additional 2-light casement to No. 281, attic has 3 gabled
dormers with 2-light casements with glazing bars. 3 plank doors in moulded
surrounds with small gabled bracketed hoods. One red brick stack, one red
brick integral stack to S gable end. (Bedfordshire Record Office, various
