House and attached service cottage. C18. Stucco with some
stucco detail; steep dry slate hipped roofs behind parapet
with plain entablature; irregularly disposed brick stacks.
Double-depth plan with probably 3 rooms at the entrance front
with entrance hall right of centre.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys over basement; 1:2:1-bay entrance front
with projecting centre bays. Probably early C19 hornless
sashes with thin glazing bars, the sash left of doorway and
the doorway within recessed round-arched architraves;
traceried fanlight and 6-panel door with fielded panels. South
garden front is 3 storeys with 2 bowed bays. Service cottage
on the right is a 1-window range with windows with glazing
bars; wide doorway on the right with moulded hood over 4-panel
door.
INTERIOR: not inspected but former list description notes:
original staircase with turned balusters, slender newels and
plain dado with flat pilasters. Plain marble fireplaces. 1
ceiling has egg-and-dart ceiling cornice.
Former St Maurice Cottage was listed on 01/05/75.
