Cross, Medieval, Erected to commemorate the battle of Neville's Cross of
October 17th 1346. Sandstone shaft, about one metre high, much eroded, set in
socket with wide chamfered corners; on 2 corners eroded beast's heads sit
on curve of chamfer stop. Wide square base with hatched chamfer. Source:
