13/114 Fernhill Cottage

GV II

Detached cottage, formerly 2 cottages. Probably C18. Colourwashed brick
walls, thatched roof, brick end and centre stacks. Left section 2 storeyed,
right section one storey and attic. In left section, centre bay projects
slightly, - dentil cornice at eaves on each side of this. Added porch, semi
circular in plan, with conical tiled roof on timber posts, and part glazed
ledged door. Ground floor has 2 sashes with glazing bars, under gauged
arches. First floor has 3 sashes with vertical glazing bars, under gauged
arches. Right section, of one storey and attic, has 3 casements with glazing
bars on ground floor. Attic has one dormer with similar casements. Single
storey rear lean-to with part thatched, part corrugated sheet roof.
Internally, one ground floor room has large open fireplace with timber lintel
and bread oven.
