including
paving stones in
ST 6316 1/243 30.11.71. front of house

2 storey house with front at angle to road, Stone rubble structure, probably
C17, with rough ashlar front, approximately 5 window. New casements above
and sashes below. Drip mould at lst floor level has raking line over door-
way. Door is circa 1700, hood and brackets probably later. Stone slate
roof, gable ends with stone.coping and moulded kneelers. The stone flags
before the house formerly comprised the pavement to the main road which,
before about 1860, passed much closer to the house following the line of
building to the south as far as the Coach and Horses Public House. [See
G H D Pitman, "Exploring Sherborne," page 72].
