7/169 Molescombe House

GV II

Bank barn. Circa mid C19. Slate rubble with red brick doorway arches.
Asbestos tile roof with hipped and gabled ends.
Plan: Long rectangular plan with shippon on ground floor facing farmyard
and barn above with access from higher ground level at rear. Adjoins at
right angles to barn west of Molescombe House qv.
Exterior: 2 storeys. 5 shippon doorways on ground floor with red brick
segmental arches, doorway to right of centre now a window. Central doorway
under flight of stone steps giving access to loft doorway above which has
C19 plank door and hipped slate canopy.
Rear elevation: Higher ground level with central doorway to barn with
canopy carried down from main roof; loft doorway to left and right with 2-
light sashes inserted; right hand (south east) corner is rounded.
Interior not inspected but floor and roof structure are said to have been
replaced recently.
