4/94 Millhouse at Lew Mill

GV II

Millhouse. Circa early C18 with C19 addition. Stone rubble with slate roof gabled
at ends. Small circa early C18 building with millhouse wing, millhouse rebuilt in
the C19, forming L-plan. The early C18 build is heated by a large projecting gable
end stack with set-offs and is said to have been used only at night, the leat being
diverted during the daytime to operate a sawmill.
