Row of 3 cottages originally one house which was extended. Possibly C17 but without
any visible features the building could date from the C18 with a C19 addition.
Rendered probably cob and rubble walls, rubble to the addition. Thatch roof to main
range gabled at left end and hipped to right. Gabled slate roof to addition. Brick
stack at left gable end and one axial stack towards the right-hand end.
Plan: Not entirely clear due to lack of internal access, may originally have had a 3
room plan but was probably subdivided into 2 cottages in the circa early C20 each
with 2 room plan. A C19 parallel range was built on projecting from the right-hand
end and a separate cottage added as a wing at the rear of the left-hand end in the
mid C19.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4 window front mainly of early - mid C20 2 and 3-
light casements. The 2 central first floor windows are C19 3-light casements with
the outer lights leaded. C19 flat-roofed porch to left of centre with a simple
moulded cornice an arched doorway and 6-pane part-glazed C19 door behind. C20 plank
door towards right-hand end is to No. 3. A long parallel range projects from this
end of the building. No 1 consists of a small 1-window fronted C19 wing behind the
left-hand end which retains its 16-pane sashes on each floor and a gabled porch to
right with 6 panel door behind.
Interior: Only very limited access to No. 3 at time of survey which suggested that
surviving features are concealed by early C20 modernization and No. 2 is likely to be
similar.
