Well. Medieval. Granite rubble and dressed granite. Shallow well over spring, formerly the only source of fresh water for St Michael's Mount. Paved and cobbled terrace with granite faced retaining walls behind. Dressed granite slabs over the well itself. Beside an ancient cobbled path leading to the Mount. Reputed to be the legendary site of the pit where 'Jack the Giant Killer' trapped and killed the Giant Cormoran.
