SW 73 NE ST GLUVIAS ST MICHAEL'S ROAD, Ponsanooth

1/131 The Old Manse


GV II


Former manse, now a private house. Circa early-mid C19. Stuccoed walls. Grouted
scantle slate hipped L-plan roof with slightly projecting eaves. Cast-iron ogee-
section gutters. Stuccoed brick stack over left-hand side, axial stack over rear
wing.
Plan: L-shaped plan. Front range has 2 front rooms flanking a central entrance
hall, probably a shallow service room behind the left-hand room and a stair hall
behind the right-hand room. Behind the stair hall is a 2-rooms-deep service wing
built at right angles to the front range.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Unaltered elevations with original door and windows.
Symmetrical 3-window north east front has plinth, rusticated quoins, moulded hood on
consoles over doorway and architraves with moulded cornices to the window openings.
3 panel door, and overlight; 12-pane hornless sashes.
Right-hand wall has 2-window front of service wing on the right, with 12-pane
hornless sashes, and stair window with traceried head, left of middle.
Interior not inspected.
