Public house. Probably late C18, remodelled in late C19, and subsequently altered. White-painted stucco on uncoursed rubble, slate roof. Double-pile plan, with three-unit front range. Two storeys and six bays; banded corner pilasters, first floor band, moulded eaves band and cornice; doorway offset left of centre, with open-segmental pediment in the band; four-pane sashed windows with raised sills on both floors, arranged in pairs (except that the doorway takes the place of the left-hand window of the centre pair). Painted wooden signs alternating with pairs of openings at ground floor, hanging sign on ornamental iron bracket fixed at first floor to left of door. Rear not of special interest; interior remodelled.

HISTORY: photograph in Redruth Public Library, dated 1862-73, shows unrendered facade of random rubble, two slightly lower storeys, and only three bays. (Item forms group with former London Hotel and telephone kiosk to the left.)
