Ancillary building, probably a range of kennels. C16, with later alterations.
Rear wall of brick in English bond, remainder timber framed and weatherboarded,
roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 8 short bays facing NE. One low storey.
7 plain boarded doors. Heavy studding, collar-rafter roof. The rear wall is
formed by the wall inside the moat, of which the remainder is listed as item
7/59. The timber structure includes much re-used timber, and is not clearly
datable, but the horizontal section of the rafters and the collar-rafter
construction suggest a C16 origin, probably contemporary with the wall, bridge
and dovecote on the same moated site. The building has been used for various
purposes at various times, including poultry and general storage, but the form
and size suggest original use as kennels. Included for group value.
