5/31 East Dizzard Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. C17 with C19 and C20 alterations. Slatestone rubble with some cob,
asbestos slate roof. South-east range 1 room deep widened on either side of off-
centre door which is now recessed. Massive stack at right gable end. Wing
attached to right gable end and extending to the front forming L-plan. Outshut to
rear of south-east range. 2-storey, 2-window front, slated porch canopy set in
recess. Ground floor window to left of porch 3-light with renewed casement.
First-floor window left under raking roof projecting slightly above eaves line.
C20 porch in corner between main range and wing. Windows in wing C20 without
glazing bars. Several curved principals in south-east range with through purlins,
probably upper crucks. Principals in wing with purlins trenched into principals.
