2 adjoining houses, including front garden walls, gate piers, gate, railings,
adjoining outbuilding and letterbox. Circa mid-late C19. Roughly coursed killas
with granite dressings. Left-hand house (Eeko Villa) has C20 concrete tile hipped
roof, other house has original grouted scantle slate hipped roof. Brick chimneys
over the side walls and over the party wall. Cast-iron ogee-section gutters.
Plan: Double depth plans. Right-hand house is built forward and has covered through
passage on its left. Otherwise the houses have similar plans, i.e. each house has 2
front rooms flanking a central entrance hall leading to stair hall between rear
service rooms. Farm buildings in front of adjoining front right-hand corner.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Granite plinths, granite lintel band to right-hand house.
Left-hand house has C20 door and original 12-pane hornless sashes; other house has
original 4-panel door, overlight and possibly original 12-pane horned sashes.
Interior: Not inspected.
Gardens in front of houses have high wall on left with dressed granite battlements,
farm building on the right and low retaining wall parallel to the house fronts. Road
slopes down to the left. Retaining wall has rubble footings and dressed granite
plinth for the railings. Right-hand gateway has round-headed granite monolithic
piers and original wrought iron gate. Original wrought-iron railings with floret
finials. There is a round-headed doorway into the left-hand wall. Built into the
front of the farm building on the right is a Victorian letterbox.
