Ruin of windmill tower. Pre 1695. Large blocks of elvan and serpentine. Conical
slate cap now completely disappeared. Circular untapered tower of 3 storeys.
Floors now removed with the exception of some first floor joints. 1 opening to
first floor and 2 to second floor. No glazing. Entrance to south and partially
blocked entrance to the north. To the south-east of the windmill is the stone
gable of a thatched house which has recently collapsed. Also some outbuildings.
These are possibly those mentioned in the sale notice of 11.10.1828 in the Royal
Cornwall Gazette, where a stone tower windmill complete with dwellinghouse, barn
and stable were advertised. Stone gable and remains of house and outbuildings not
included in the listing. Scheduled as Ancient Monument.
