Hut. 1840s, some C20 repair. Designed by the Reverend R S Hawker for himself.
Small rectangular hut with stable door built against the cliff and immediately
overlooking the sea. Interior has slate floor and fixed timber seats. Roof of hut
covered in turf with two wood boards across eaves above stable door of five planks,
wood latches and iron strap hinges. Vertical plank each side of exposed stiles.
Hut built from timbers from the wreck of the 'Alonzo'. Hawker used the hut for
composing verse and reflection. R S Hawker, poet and antiquary, was vicar of
Morwenstow from 1835-1874. C E Byles. The Life and Letters of R S Hawker (1905),
