Monument. 1852. Red brick in Flemish bond, with limestone tablets. Square in
plan., Plinth, plain cornice, and domed head of brick. On N side, inscription
in stone tablet 'The Elysian Gardens planted in 1839 and this pile erected in
commemoration of Nelson and Wellington by Captain Jeremiah Easter 1852'. On S
side, inscription in stone tablet 'Credito in Deo. That officer who erected
this pile was present at the combats and battles at Alberche and Talaver in 1809
Busaco retirement Sobral and lines at Torres Vedras in 1810 Foz d'Arouce and
Fuentes d'Onor in 1811'.
