Description

MAKER-WITH-RAME
SX 4350 CAWSAND

Sea Wall of the
Old School House

GV II

Sea wall of former school house. Probably C17 or C18 with later alterations.

Only the parts of the wall built of coursed sandstone are included; the seaward
(south east) wall including part of the right hand (north east) return which is
also built of sandstone. The seaward facing wall has a row of large openings
with sandstone piers between and timber lintels; these openings have been
partly blocked with later masonry and smaller windows inserted. The rest of
the building has been much altered and is not included.
