Farmhouse, early C18; English garden wall bond brown brickwork; grey
slate roof. 2 storeys plus attics; 2 windows. Flush sandstone
plinth. Replaced door; 6-pane replaced casements of C19 vernacular
type under cambered gauged brick arches; projecting stone cills.
Flush gable chimneys of brick. Recessed C19 left wing built as
cheesery. Right gable has 2 casements to 1st storey and 1 each to 2nd
storey and attic. Left wing has enlarged replaced window to lower
storey and casement of two 2-pane lights to upper storey; left
gable-end above left wing has window to lower and upper landings and 2
small casements to attic. Flush gable chimneys. Studded broad-board
back door on smithy-made long hinges.
Interior Oak beams throughout and oak joists almost throughout.
Broad-board doors, painted, on HL hinges. Dogleg stair to upper
storey and attic, probably of oak, has deep moulded rail, simple
square newels, stick balasters (1 in 2 removed); borrowed lights from
stair to attic; massive oak purlins.
