Bollard Milepost: c1820. Cast-iron. Cylindrical head, on a narrower
cylindrical post, has 3 panels, the north-west face reading BUXTON 6
MILES and the south-west face reading MACCL - 5 3/4 MILES. Maker's
name J Harrison Ltd. Derby on post.

One of a complete set of bollard mileposts on new Macclesfield to
Buxton turnpike of 1821. There are 3 others in Macclesfield Forest
(q.v:) 2 in Rainow and another in Wildboarclough.
