Canal Warehouse circa 1772 with alterations. Whitened brickwork with
slate roof built alongside the Bridgewater Canal. 3 storeys 7 widely
spaced window bays on east land side and four additional gabled
loading bays on the west canal side. Windows segmental headed have
fitted cast iron inserts to resemble small square glazing. A large
slightly off centre 3 storey loading bay extends to the edge of the
canal whereas the other three are flush,with the walls and now fitted
with large windows.
Interior: open timber roof with massive beams. The beams at first
floor level are supported by a row of cast iron columns at centre
span.
