6/22 Rose Cottage and West
View

II

Pair of cottages, circa 1860, for the 2nd Marquis of Westminster,
possibly by Edward Hodkinson (Pevsner and Hubbard). Brown brick in
Flemish bond with grey slate roofs. Central diminishing rectangular
brick chimney with stone caps. Plinth and moulded string at first
floor of red sandstone. Cottages of l½ storeys and one window with
half-dormers to front and half-timbered gables on stone corbels to
ends (cf.Woodhouse Farm, Church Lane). Iron lattice casements in
timber sub-frames. Framed and boarded doors. Interiors not
inspected.
