House, 1696. Timber framed, roughcast and cement rendered with
steeply pitched roof, now of asbestos but formerly thatched.
Original end stacks of local red brick mostly cement rendered
except for string course. Typical late C17 T-plan with original
kitchen in wing at rear. Front range, plan of two rooms
flanking narrower hall and stairbay. Two storeys. Three
windows at first floor, including smaller closet window, all C19
or C20 above central doorway, flanked by C19 canted bay and a
four pane C19 hung sash. Interior: One of the ground floor
rooms, possibly the parlour, has a plaster roundel with the date
1696 and a border of flowers and foliage. The rear range is
cellared. Several doors have been made from re-used C18 raised
and fielded panelling.
