Cherrytree House

II


House with outshut at rear and C19 service wing to west. Dated 1758 and initials
R.H. to tympanum of pediment over doorway. Brown brick with steeply pitched roof now
with slates. Tumbled gable end parapets on rebuilt kneelers. End stacks. The roof to
the outshut at the rear has been raised. Two storeys and attics. Stone sills and
cambered arches to range of five recessed hung sashes with glazing bars. Triangular
pediment to central doorway with doorcase of pilasters and entablature with pulvinated
frieze. Early C19 service wing of brown brick with slate roof. Inside there is an
original open-string staircase of two flights with two turned balusters to each tread
and square newel posts.
