House, now disused, at one time used as 2 cottages. Circa early C18. Rendered cob
on stone, wooden shingle roof gabled at ends, formerly thatched. Left gable end hung
with wooden shingles. Large central stone stack on ridge. The left-hand wall is
partly constructed out of massive unworked pieces of stone. Single depth plan with 2
rooms heated from central stack. 2 storeys. 2-window symmetrical front with windows
to first floor only of front no windows to rear. Plank front doors on front at left
and right. 2 first floor 3-light casements, 3-panes per light, under timber lintels
and with slate sills.
Interior: 2 large fireplaces to stack with timber lintels and cloam ovens. Stone
floor. 2 large unhewn cross beams, exposed axial beams. Pegged collar rafter roof
below C20 roof. Blocked openings on rear suggest that house was in use as a shippon
at one time. Unmodernized house, wooden shingles date from circa 1940.
