Pair of cottages. Circa early C18 with C20 addition. Rendered cob and rubble
walls. Gable-ended thatch roof. Brick stack at each gable end.
Plan: unusual mirror image plan where each cottage has a larger heated outer room
and a smaller service room at the centre - 1 at the front and 1 at the back so that
they overlap. This arrangement also exists on the 1st floor. C20 outshut added at
the left-hand end.
Exterior; 2 storeys. Asymmetrical front, 3 windows to Rose Cottage to right
consisting of C20 2-light casements with large C20 glazed porch to centre. Higher
Cottage to left has no windows on front but lean-to C20 glazed porch to right. C20
outshut at left-hand end.
Interior: no original features visible in either cottage but fireplaces and beams
may be concealed. Feet of rough straight principals visible on 1st floor of Rose
Cottage.
