5/90 Windmill Cottage with
- adjacent Barn

GV II

Formerly miller's cottage. C18 (probably 1786). Painted rubble stone; stone
plinth, with hipped thatched roof. 2 storeys.
Symmetrical front: 3 window range, all windows 2-light with C20 timber casements.
Upper window lintels at wall-plate level. Wide central doorway with bead-moulded
timber jambs, recessed under simple wooden lintel. End wall of house has no window
at first floor. Outshut to rear under catslide roof. To the left of the cottage
and attached to it is a rendered sandstone wall which forms the rear of an open-
fronted thatched barn. No notable internal features. Barn wall unbroken except for
door between barn and house. The cottage forms a group with the old windmill.
