Cottage, formerly 2 cottages. Mid C19 with C20 alterations. Granite rubble walls
with dressed granite features. Slate roof with overhanging eaves at the gable
ends. Granite block gable end chimneys with dripmoulds.
Victorian Gothic. Originally 2 mirror-image plan cottages each double depth and
single fronted with larger heated room at front reached by direct entry and with
small unheated service room behind with staircase to 2 rooms on first floor. Each
cottage had outshut/store attached at gable end with no internal access. Converted
in C20 into 1 cottage.
2 storeys. Symmetrical 2 window facade with central porch. Windows have pointed
arched head and C20 2-light casements with glazing bars. Central gabled granite
rubble porch has splayed corners with pointed granite arched doorway with C20 plank
door and lancet window at either side. Outshut to either end has inserted late C20
lancet window matching the others.
Interior: each main room has open fireplace with plain timber lintel and brick oven
in one side. Original winder stairs survive at the left-hand end.
