Emmanuel Church

II

1846. H I Stevens architect. Early English style. Of rock faced grey stone on plinth. Slate roof with coped gables and eaves cornice and bellcote. Buttressed. Cruciform plan. Nave of four bays with four lancets, triple light west window. Polygonal east end. Doors to south transept and west porch are of early C20 date with good ironwork.

Interior. Some good C20 woodwork, side screens to transepts by Doringtons of Heanor, choir stalls, reredos and lectern by Bridgemans of Lichfield. West window has good stained glass of 1937. Glass may be by Jones and Willis, Emmanuel Church stands in large churchyard.
