Meadow Place Grange Farmhouse
II

Farmhouse. Mid C18 and 1859. Rendered and painted stone with painted stone dressings
and chamfered quoins. Graduated slate roof with stone gable end stack to east and two
triple diamond set stone stacks to rear wall of addition, stone coped gables with
moulded kneelers, also plinth and coved eaves band. Three storeys, two bays, with
single bay rear addition. Central flush doorcase with raised fillet to edge, bracketed
stone ovolo-moulded hood and C19 glazed panelled door. To either side, adjoining pairs
of triple pane sashes with raised fillets round edge of each surround. Above, two
pairs of similar, but shallower windows, with blank plaque between. Above again,
two triple pane sashes in plain surrounds. To rear, single bay addition has glazing
bar sashes in flush surrounds. 1859 datestone, near eaves. Interior has wide,
handsome C18 dog-legged staircase with turned balusters.
