Milestone. Early C19 for Carlisle-Glasgow Turnpike. Red sandstone, cast iron
plate. Stone with curved face and round top with plate to face inscribed
GLASGOW 86 CARLISLE 8h, in 4 lines. Whitewashed with lettering picked out in
black. Bench mark on top of stone. This section of road is now by-passed and
is used as access road only.
