C15 with cut crownpost in smoke-blackened roof. Timber framed cottages, refaced
at various periods but with a little timbering exposed at the back. Two storeys.
Tiled roof with 2 Brick stacks. Monks Cottage has an C18 front of red and
blue brick with a brick band between storeys, brocken in the middle. Two windows
of three casement lights, segmental headed reveals, on both storeys. Dutch
door. Datestone "W.M.S, 1721". Monks Hall is partly stuccoed and partly refaced
in C19 brick. The brick portion has two windows above two, hung sashes with
marginal glazing bars and modern glazing. Round-headed doorway with modern
door. The rendered portion has one window with sliding sashes above two with
lintels and casements, one of two lights. Early C16 re-used ecclesiastical
boss in ceiling.
