Bakehouse/brewhouse. C17 altered and extended C18/early C19. Red brick ground floor,
the base of the ground floor earlier in character, and tile hung first floor with
some weather boarding, tile hung and weather boarded rear elevations and plain tiled
roof. Two storeys with hipped roof and lean-to outshots projecting at right and to
right return and with single storey range attached to rear right. Wooden casement
and mullioned opening on first floor and shuttered window to left on ground floor
with boarded doors to right and in side of projecting outshot. Interior: clasped
purlin and tie beam roof and plastered framed partitions with loft floor to end left
bay; well preserved original internal features include large brick fireplace/forge to
centre with stand for copper adjoining and 2 tier bake oven to right. Connected to
Down house by later pentice roofed walkway.
